Bull's Eye NPT Sight Glass

Assembly Instructions

This unit is assembled at the factory and is ready for installation to a vessel. This sight glass should be visually checked for any possible damage during shipping. To install the unit, thread the male NPT end into the vessel and tighten. Tighten the retainer cap into the body with a spanner wrench. This sight glass is now operational.

REMOVAL OF LENS - Unscrew the retainer cap using a spanner wrench or channel-lock pliers. The packing is usually removed with a screw type packing remover. If the unit has been in operation, the packing will be damaged upon removal and must be replaced to provide a proper seal. To remove the lens, the unit should be removed from its service position. Place the unit upside down on a solid base and insert a wooden dowel rod through the NPT opening. A few sharp blows will dislodge the lens.

The replacement kit contains gaskets, packing and a lens. Remove any deposit from the bottom seat. Place one gasket on bottom seat. Place lens on gasket. Slide the packing into the space between the outside oi the lens and the inside of the body. Place the remaining gasket on top of lens. Thread the male NPT into the vessel and tighten. Tighten the retainer cap into the body with a spanner wrench. The sight glass is now operational.
